The City of Kalona will help Kalona Valley Apartments finance an upcoming project. At Monday’s meeting, the city council decided to approve the $55,000 contribution the social welfare organization requested. Mayor Ken Herington says Kalona Valley Apartments will turn a community room at their C Avenue facility into another low to moderate income apartment. He says the funding is going to come from money set aside specifically for low to moderate income projects.
