The City of Keota will wait until they can get in touch with the owner of a uninhabitable home before demolishing it. The city’s attorney has not been able to make contact with the owner of the property at 401 North Green Street. City Clerk Niki Osweiler says there are six nuisance properties that they’re attempting to demolish. The city has $10,000 set aside for the effort and has received around $15,000 from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation. Osweiler says demolition costs range from $4,000 to $5,500.
