To finance the purchase of necessary equipment, a couple of area fire departments will hold fundraisers this weekend. Tomorrow evening, the Crawfordsville and Ainsworth Fire Departments will hold their annual soup suppers.

Ainsworth Fire Chief Waylon Schultz says proceeds raised during last year’s event allowed them to purchase rescue tools they use during car accidents. Crawfordsville Fire Chief Roy Felts says they also invest in equipment with their proceeds, and plan to buy equipment for fighting wildfires with this year’s donations.

The Crawfordsville soup supper will run from 4 to 8pm. Ainsworth’s begins at 5pm. Both will be held at their respective fire stations.
