The Washington County Riverboat Foundation presented a grant for $100,000 to a group in the City of Washington. The president of the foundation’s board, Patty Koller, presented the award Wednesday night, to the Kirkwood Community Foundation for the Washington Center.

Koller said that the funds will help cover part of the equipment costs for the highly technical career academies for high school students. The new Kirkwood center is set to open for the fall term next year.

In total, the Riverboat Foundation awarded $1,365,787 for 52 grants Wednesday night.
