The WACO girl’s basketball team grabbed a win over Keota on Saturday, while the boys could only stay tied in the first.

In the girl’s game both teams were tied at 20 at the end of the first, but by the end of the third WACO had the 33-26 lead over the Eagles.

WACO kept the pressure on and won the game 48-38, led by 11 points by Aaliyah Brown and 10 points from Jaelyn Unternahrer. Keota had 11 points from Sierra Lyle, and nine points from both Madison and Kelsi Sieren.

In the boy’s game, it was tied at 12 after one, before Keota started to run away with it, taking a 31-25 lead into the locker room. The third quarter was the big one for the Eagles, taking a 55-32 lead after three on their way to a 68-40 win.

Luke Lyle had 22 points on the night for the Eagles, while WACO was led by Jackson Roth with nine.

WACO moves on to face Lone Tree on Tuesday, while Keota plays HLV tonight.
