The Washington Demons got the conference sweep last night over Fairfield.

The Demon girls were up first and it was a dominating performance by Washington. They led in every quarter, and never had a second guess in the game.

Washington led 25-15 at the half, and held Hanna Greiner to just eight points in the first half and Sami Fritz to no points in the first half.

Washington looked poised for the win as they kept pushing and won the game 54-43.

The Demons were led by Grace Redlinger with 13 points, while Dema Giardino had 12 points. The Demons held Fritz to just two points in the game, while Greiner got held to four points in the second half. Washington moves to 1-0 in the conference and plays West Branch tonight at West Branch.

For the boy’s game last night, the Demons surgically took apart the Trojans, leading 16-7 after the first quarter, and then losing their lead in the second 27-25.

Down the stretch is where the Demons shined, leading 43-35 after Three quarters, with three balls raining in from Mason Quigley, and Gage Redlinger continued to be wide open under the basket as Fairfield forgot to cover him.

Washington held the two big men in Vincent Horras and Landon Gamrath to just 15 points combined despite the height difference of the team.

Washington won the game 69-55, with Quigley leading the way with 13 points, Redlinger had 12, Thomas Bump had 11 and Garrett Covington had 10 points in the game.

That game is at West Branch after the girls game and can also be heard on AM and FM KCII with pregame starting right after the girl’s game finishes.
