The Washington Demon wrestling team is in action tonight at their first meet of the season.

Washington will wrestle in a triangular with Highland and L-M at L-M.

This meet may be a bit different for the Demons though, as Washington had a lot of kids out for football and have only had about a week of real wrestling practice under their belt before tonight.

Demon head coach Brent Van Weelden said it shouldn’t be too big of an issue though, because these kids aren’t new to wrestling, and tonight’s meet will be a nice introduction to the season.

“With the triangular, I don’t think we are going to have a lot of matches for any one individual, the biggest problem is the JV kids having to make weight Thursday and Friday, and I’ll probably let them move up a weight class on Friday so they don’t have to worry about keeping their weight down,” Van Weelden said. “ The biggest issue is just keeping a positive attitude, our kids have been wrestling each other long enough, and we need some competition for them.”

Tonight’s meet is at L-M with the first matches kicking off at 6 PM.
