Weather conditions have been favorable for crews working on the Lake Darling project. Vance Polton, DNR Fisheries Management Technician stationed at Lake Darling, says the lakebed sediment removal is nearly done. Work on the shoreline is complete and crews will begin working on the beach next month.

Polton says once the sediment removal is done, they can close the dam gate. That will allow the lake to fill with water when the snowmelt begins. He shares they’ll be able to do that a few months before the April deadline.
