The Washington County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to eliminate the position of planning and zoning administrator at their meeting yesterday morning. As of December 11th, Steve LaFaurie’s position of Planning and Zoning Administrator will be terminated. Also, the board disposed of the zoning department.

Supervisor Chairman Steve Davis said that the Subdivision Ordinance would be under the Auditor’s office and the Floodplain Ordinance will fall under the Department of Environmental Health. He added that later, budgets will be examined and funds will be allocated for those that assume the responsibilities.

The supervisors rescinded zoning and it ended September 27th of this year.
