A windchill advisory is in effect for the area until 9 a.m. today. Temperatures will be about 5 degrees below zero with windchill readings of minus 15 to minus 20. According to the National Weather Service, with these windchills frost bite and hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken. Frost bite can happen in as few as 30 minutes.

Also, with these cold temperatures remember to take care of outdoor animals – check to see that water has noot frozen over and that they have adequate shelter.
