The Washington Demon wrestling team gears up for another conference dual tonight, this time against school rival Mt. Pleasant.

Washington is undefeated in conference duals and is looking to take a conference title this year. The Demons are led by Fletcher Green and Tristan Pohren, but the Washington get contributions up and down the lineup from every weight.

Washington head coach Brent Van Weelden says his kids understand the rivalry between the two schools, and if they do everything they have in the past, the meet should go the Demons way.

“I really haven’t written it down on paper, I really don’t know how it is going to go, but if our kids come and wrestle the way they should, and Mt. Pleasant always seems to be a little bit of a rivalry for our kids at Washington so I don’t think it is going to be an issue of getting them ready to go, I think it’s just a matter of when we go down to their gymnasium, making sure we’re getting warmed up properly and getting our minds in the right place,” Van Weelden said. “So if we can do that, I think things will go the way we want it to.”

Washington and Mt. Pleasant wrestle tonight at Mt. Pleasant with the first match starting at 6:30.
