A team from the state Department of Education will be evaluating WACO School District over the next few days. The site visits are conducted every five years to identify a district’s strengths and weaknesses. Over the course of the three day evaluation, the team will determine if the district is meeting state and federal requirements. They’re also scheduled to interview the school board, teachers, parents and students.

Superintendent Darrel Smith says after the site visit, the district will receive a written report, which will outline what’s being done well and what needs to be improved.
