The second half of the season has not been nice to the Mid-Prairie wrestling team, as they lost both duals last night against West Liberty and West Branch.

In the West Liberty dual the Golden Hawks got a forfeit at 106 and a pin by Josh Murphy at 113 right out of the gate, but the Comets won the next six by either forfeit or pin, and added a seventh win in a row by decision. Mid-Prairie won the next four, getting pins from Eesaa Baylor at 170 and Levi Duwa at 195, a forfeit at 182, and a decision from Ben Fiordalise at 220. The Golden Hawks forfeited the last match to lose 45-33.

In the West Branch dual the Golden Hawks started well grabbing a pin out of the gate from Duncan McCain at 106 and a forfeit at 113, but the Golden Hawks would have to wait all the way until 182 for their next win that came in the form of a forfeit. Levi Duwa grabbed a decision at 195, and that was the match for Mid-Prairie falling 54-21.

The Golden Hawks will be back in action on Saturday at Clear Creek Amana.
