Iowa Mennonite girls’ basketball got a big 40-37 win over Highland last night.

Highland led after one 11-7, but IMS came back strong with a 12-4 run to take the lead and led 19-18 at halftime. The third quarter was cold offensively for IMS, scoring just five points and trailing 27-24.

In the fourth quarter IMS found themselves in a 33-26 hole with five minutes to play, but IMS came back strong and had a 14-4 run down the stretch to get the 40-37 win.

IMS was led by Olivia Yutzy with 17 points and five rebounds, and Riley Schmieder added 11 points. Highland was led by Chelsey Lampe with 14 and Cheyanne Adamson with 11.

IMS moves on to play West Burlington on Thursday, while Highland will look to regroup against Columbus on Friday.
