The IMS girls basketball team was coming off a tough loss to Columbus Junction, only to face the No. 10 ranked English Valley Bears.

IMS must have been angry, because they pulled the 48-36 upset victory.

EV started the game with a good 8-2 lead, but IMS answered making it 10-8 after one, and in the second quarter the teams battled to a 16-14 score in favor of the Bears.

In the third quarter, both teams battled back and forth once more, but English Valley kept their distance from IMS. Hannah Miller took the game in her own hands, draining at last second three-pointer to get IMS within one going into the fourth quarter.

IMS road the momentum in the fourth quarter with back-to-back threes from Kristin Davis and Miller to give IMS a 32-27 lead with five to play. IMS held on and executed in the final four minutes to grab the win.

IMS had 24 points in the fourth quarter in the comeback. Olivia Yutzy was a big part with 21 points of her own and five rebounds, while Kristen Davis had 11 and Hannah Miller put in 10.

IMS is 9-7 and will host Louisa-Muscatine Tomorrow.
