The IMS basketball teams swept WACO last night in a conference double header.

In the girls’ game, IMS led 10-9 after the first quarter, and held WACO to just two points in the second quarter as IMS led 21-11 at the half. WACO got some more points on the board in the second half, but IMS road a 28-7 run in the final 11 minutes to the 50-29 win.

IMS was led by the double-double from Olivia Yutzy of 18 points and 16 rebounds; Riley Schmieder added 15 points, and Kristen Davis had 13 points for IMS. WACO was led by Aaliyah Brown with 10 points.

In the boys’ game, IMS did much of the same. IMS led 31-25 at the half, and opened it up in the second half as they outscored WACO 20-8 in the second half to win 51-33.

IMS was led by Reggie Hostetler with 18 points on the night, while WACO got 11 from Braden Blake.

IMS will gear up for a rematch against Columbus Junction on Friday, while the WACO girls take on ever tough Mediapolis on Thursday.
