The Mid-Prairie basketball teams are in River Valley Conference action tonight, when they travel to West Liberty.

The Lady Hawks are coming off a 45-39 win over West Branch, and a career high scoring game for their leading scorer Taylor Kurtz. Kurtz is scoring 14.3 points per game, and seems to be in a groove after scoring 24 against West Branch. Ali Riggan and Alex Rath come in with over seven points per game to add some support.

Despite the Golden Hawks not having a whole lot of points per game, and a shooting percentage under 40; if they can get to the line they’re shooting 52 percent.

West Liberty just picked up their first win of the season over Bellevue, but is only scoring 21.6 points per game. They are led by Hailey Daufeldt with 6.1 points per game and Molly Kelly with 5.7.

In the boys’ game, the Golden Hawks are looking to find their shot again. Both in their come back loss to Washington, and in their win over West Branch, the Golden Hawks have faded from their 62.3 points per game and 44.7 percent shooting. Dayton Hall and Nick Stimson still sit atop the scoring list with over 11 points per game.

West Liberty comes into the game after a high scoring loss to Wilton. The Comets are scoring 53 points per game, and have three players that can rack up the points. Kyle Miller scores 20.3 points per game, and behind him are Carl Guardado with 13 and Brett Becker with 11.9 points per game
