The second reading of the proposed ATV ordinance which would allow licensed drivers to operate four-wheelers on B level county roads will be held tomorrow. At last week’s Washington County Supervisors meeting the board approved the first reading with a 5 to 1 vote. Supervisor Bob Yoder suggested allowing side-by-sides, which have roll cages and seatbelts, for a year to see how it goes before allowing all ATVs.
Also at last week’s meeting, the Washington County Traffic Safety Coalition spoke in opposition and presented a petition with approximately 50 signatures. The supervisors had previously received a petition with approximately 200 signatures in favor.
The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow.
