The Washington Demon girl’s basketball team hosts Mt. Pleasant tonight, and although this is only their second conference game of the season it could be for the conference title.

Washington comes in at 1-0 in the conference and on a six game winning streak dating back to before the holiday break. The Demons are also putting up the most points in the last two games than they have all season.

Washington is averaging 53.4 points per game and is shooting 32 percent from the floor. The lead scorers for the Demons are Grace Redlinger at the top with 12.4 points per game, Dema Giardino with 9.9 points per game and Stephanie Fishback with 8.7. The Demons also lead class 4A in steals with 151.

Mt. Pleasant comes in ranked No. 9 in 4A. They are scoring 51.5 points per game as a team, but only shooting 42 percent from the field. The Panthers look to senior Taryne Shull with 14.6 points per game and Kelsi Phipps with 10.4 points per game to lead the way. Past those two players Mt. Pleasant falls to Hannah Becker who is scoring 6.4 points per game. Both teams come in undefeated in conference play tonight and the winner will get a big win to help with a conference title.
