The Winfield- Mt.Union and Iowa Mennonite girl’s basketball teams met up in a big conference match-up last night, and just like in the first half of the season it was WMU that took the win.

The game was a close one, with IMS leading at the halftime break 20-17. IMS extended their lead to eight, before WMU came back with a 10-2 run to take a 39-37 lead. IMS’s Kristin Davis, who already made a last second three in the first half, shot up the desperation shot as the clock ran out, but hit the back of the rim and WMU escaped with another win.

Yutzy had 12 points for IMS, while Riley Schmieder and Kristin Davis both had 10 points in the game.

IMS falls to 4-3 on the season and plays Wapello on Tuesday, while WMU continues to sit in second place with their one loss.
