The Winfield-Mt. Union basketball teams both grabbed wins on Saturday over New London.
The Wolves ran away with the girl’s game, outscoring their opponents every quarter on their way to a 59-40 win.
WMU had three girls in the double digit figures with Shelby Therme leading the way with 17, Karlie Wade finished with 14 and Emily Mathews had 12.
The boy’s followed suit, with a 20 point 61-41 victory for themselves. WMU led after every quarter but the first, and running away with a 17 point lead after the third.
The Wolves were led by a 20 point night from Max Fricke and 12 points from Jake Edwards.
Both WMU teams will gear up for a big game on Tuesday, as they play for second place against Pekin.
