With a 3 to 1 vote, the second reading of the proposed all-terrain vehicle ordinance was approved at this week’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting. Supervisor Bob Yoder voted in opposition and Stan Stoops was absent. The penatlies for mis-use of ATVs was discussed. The County Engineer will have the ability to revoke someone’s ATV permit and the board of supervisors will have the authority to reinstate permits. The magistrate court will determine the penalty, such as a fine or jail time, for citations issued by the Sheriff’s office.
