The City of Keota is in the process of acquiring a small park they already maintain. The United Church of Faith owns the land, which is adjacent to their parish hall.

In the deed put together for the transfer of ownership, it stipulates that the land be used only for recreational purposes. The city council has decided that they’d like to remove that language from the deed, allowing them to keep their options open for whatever may come up in the future.

The church board is set to meet on March 6th, and City Clerk Niki Osweiler says a member of the city council will likely attend to discuss their concerns.
