The Washington Demon boys basketball team starts the playoffs tonight, when they travel to Pella for the first round of district play.

The Demons are coming off a long losing streak, and need to break it up with a game here tonight in a do or die situation.

Washington comes into the game 6-15, and are scoring 56 points per game. Thomas Bump leads the team with 12 points per game, and Gage Redlinger has 10, but consistent scoring from outside those two is where the Demons struggle and will need the be strong tonight to beat Pella.

The Dutch come into the game 18-3, and scoring 71 points per game, while shooting 44.7 percent from the floor as a team. Pella’s leading scorer is Issac Naaktgeboren with 17.9 points per game, while Jordan Pingel comes in with 15.6 and Bryce Bortscheller has 11.1. All three shoot 44 percent or better from the field, and Bortscheller and Naaktegeboren are shooting 40 percent from the three point arc.
