The City of Kalona is ready to submit their budget for the upcoming fiscal year to the state. No changes were made to the budget proposed a few weeks ago, and there were no written or oral comments during the budget hearing held recently. Expenditures for the fiscal year beginning the first of July are expected to total roughly $3,180,000, while revenue is projected to be $3 million. With not much changing from this fiscal year to the next, the biggest adjustment is a one cent increase to property taxes.
