At this week’s meeting, the Kalona City Council had a chance to review the tentative site plan for a new business at the Harvest Hill Subdivision. Mayor Ken Herington says there were a few issues with Dollar General’s plan that need to be addressed before they can move forward. City officials feel the proposed entrance off of H Avenue is too close to the Highway 1 intersection. They also found problems with the retention basin used for runoff.
