The WACO basketball teams dropped both of their games Friday night to Mediapolis.

In the girls’ game, it was a dominating performance by MEPO, outscoring the Warriors 12-2 in the first, 26-4 in the second, 11-5 in the third and 8-2 in the fourth quarter to take the 57-13 win.

WACO was led by Aaliyah Brown with eight points on the night.

The boys’ game was much closer, as both teams never led by more than five points. Into halftime both teams were tied up at 19, and in the second half WACO took control, leading 38-32 going into the fourth, but Mediapolis had different plans. The Bulldogs made up three points in the final minute of play to erase the 44-43 lead of WACO’s, to win 46-44.

WACO was led by three players with 11 points: Jackson Roth, Dylan Carlson and Braden Blake.

WACO will get a chance at redemption when they face Mediapolis again on Monday.
