The Mid-Prairie boy’s basketball team plays the second round of playoffs tonight, when they travel North to face Iowa City Regina.

The Golden Hawks had a huge tip-in buzzer beater over West Liberty to win in the first round, but need a flawless game tonight to get the win.

Mid-Prairie is scoring 56.1 points per game, and hitting 42 percent of their shots from the floor. Nick Stimson and Dayton Hall have been the guys to watch all season long as they are scoring over 10 points per game. Christian Johnson has also come on strong as of late, with 9.2 points per game.

The No. 9 Regals beat Mid-Prairie both times they played this season. They are 18-3, and scoring 64.4 points per game. Their big scorer is Drew Cook, who averages 25 points per game, and has averaged 21 points against the Golden Hawks this season. The offense runs through Cook, but Phil Arendt with 11.7 points per game and Nathan Stenger with 10 points per game can also make some statements on the court.
