Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks has officially thrown her hat into the ring for the third time for Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District seat. She announced her campaign for congress this week. She lost to current incumbent Dave Loebsack in 2008 and 2010 but feels the political climate has changed, particularly because of the Affordable Healthcare Act. She states that her experience in the private sector, public sector and academic sector will help her in D.C. Miller-Meeks most recently was the director for the Iowa Department of Public Health.
