A new method for dust control has been approved for Washington County. This week the board of supervisors approved the use of chip seal for dust control on county gravel roads. The county allows the following materials for dust control: tree sap, calcium chloride, soy oil, refined glycerine, mangesium chloride and now chip seal. The applicants will be responsible for the cost. Applications for permits before May 1st cost $50 and double after that date. Thorius adds that approximately 250 to 300 permits are acquired each year.
