Senior dining in Riverside will end on March 28th. Since the Heritage Agency on the Aging’s decision to cut funding to the city a year ago due to low turnout, the city council has been considering what to do with the program.

City Administrator Rusty Rogerson says it was a tough decision, but the council ultimately decided to do away with the low cost meals, which were costing the city about $1,500 a month.

Rogerson says in the future they’ll try and hold special events a few times a month for the city’s seniors with the help of donations from businesses.
