Two Found Dead After Fire Near Salem

Two bodies were found in a trailer house that reportedly exploded. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the home on fire at 4:57 p.m. yesterday at 3207 James Avenue near the Salem Stub; when deputies arrived the house was fully engulfed in flames. Two adult subjects were found deceased inside the trailer. The identities have not been released at this time.

Henry County Sheriff’s personnel, Salem Fire and Rescue, Mt. Pleasant Fire and Rescue and New London Fire Department responded to the scene. The Iowa State Fire Marshall’s Office is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
