The WACO School Board has set some parameters for next year’s school calendar. School will start no earlier than August 19th and school will be in session no later than May 21st.

Superintendent Darrel Smith says the District’s leadership team will now put together the calendar, which needs to be approached differently due to their 4+1 school week. Instead of having 180 days of school, they need to have 1,080 hours of instruction time.

He says something they will focus on is setting up specific dates for making up days missed due to weather, as they’ve been inconsistent this year.
