Potholes have developed over the winter. J.J. Bell City of Washington Maintenance and Construction Superintendent states that crews have been working to fill in potholes. He explains that snow has filled existing holes and hasn’t had a chance to melt away and the rain last week opened up many potholes.
Bell adds that the city usually has 22 watermains break annually, but in just the two months of this year there have already been 23 breaks.
He says that residents can call the construction department to report potholes or water issues at 653-2947.
