The WMU basketball teams split their conference match up with Lone Tree last night.
The girls came out and found themselves going back and forth with Lone Tree to start the game, going into the locker room tied 21-21 at half.
In the second half WMU still could take over the game, but they did take the lead after three 29-28. The fourth quarter is where the Wolves separated themselves, staying tied with Lone Tree with five minutes left, but while WMU kept scoring, Lone Tree stayed put at 35 to the final 49-35 WMU victory.
The Wolves were led by Logan Hartsock with 14 and Emily Mathews with 13. Lone Tree got 11 from Maddie Flemr.
The boys game was more one sided, with Lone Tree running away with the win 54-45. The Lions put up 18 points in the second quarter to lead 31-19 at half.
Lone Tree was led by Jovonte Squires with 17 and Trent Gosnell with 15, while WMU got 12 from Jake Edwards and 10 from Garret Baker.
Next up for the girls teams is the regional tournament.
