The Winfield-Mt.Union basketball teams pulled the sweep last night over IMS.

In the girls’ game, IMS took WMU to overtime, but it too much for IMS as the Wolves took the 51-46 win.

WMU led by four at halftime, and seven after three quarters of play, before IMS made a big run and tied it up at 42 at the end of regulation.

WMU was led by Shelby Therme with 14 points, and Emily Mathews with 13, while IMS got a huge 21 point night from Olivia Yutzy, and 12 points from Kristin Davis.

The boys’ game was close until the fourth quarter, with WMU leading by one at the half 26-25. The Wolves only led by two going into the fourth quarter, but got out to a five point lead and held on until the final minute, when IMS had to foul and WMU could salt the game at the line to win 57-50.

The Wolves were led by Zach Davis with 15, Max Fricke with 12 and Garrett Baker with 12, while IMS was led by Reggie Hostetler with 12 and Nick Yutzy with 11.

IMS will host Wapello tonight, while WMU travels to Pekin.
