The state wrestling meet finishes up today, and here is where the area wrestlers sit.

For Washington, Andrew Waite was eliminated in the second round of the consolation bracket, Kyle Anderson fell in the third round, so he will be wrestling for seventh. Fletcher Green also lost in the third round of the consolation bracket, to Mason Buster of Mediapolis and will wrestling for seventh today. Tristan Pohren was eliminated from the medals in the second round of the consolation bracket, and Brad Skuball was pinned by Mid-Prairie’s Phirom Peterscmidt in the third round, and will wrestle for seventh today.

Mid-Prairie’s Peterschmidt will continue to wrestle toward third today after beating Skuball of Washington.

Columbus Junction’s Josh Keller lost in the semifinals of the championship bracket at 106, he will continue to wrestle today for third, while Mark Ramirez and Kyle Davis were both eliminated from the consolation bracket yesterday in the second round.

In 1A, Highland’s Drew West continues to wrestle for a state championship today, as he has made it the championship round, and will face Justin Portillo of Toledo in the final match. His teammate Travis Cole is also wrestling for a state title today, Cole will take on Jeren Glosser of Eddieville-Blakesburg in the final. Bryce West of Highland will continue wrestling for the third place medal in the consolation bracket.

Sigourney-Keota had all of their wrestlers eliminated from competition last night, and Wapello had two wrestlers get to the Semifinals and come up on the losing end, so Jack Walker, and Ryley Howell will both wrestle in the consolation bracket today for third place.

Washington high school will have a welcome home pep rally in the high school gym at 3:00 PM on Sunday.
