On a 3 to 2 vote the Washington County Board of Supervisors approved new policy regarding the use of county secondary roads for special events. It is now necessary for anyone wishing to use a county road for special events, described as parades, races, ceremonies and other events that are not typical of a road, to get the approval of the sheriff, county engineer, auditor and the board of supervisors. County Engineer Jacob Thorius stated the policy was created to increase communication and minimize problems.
