Drought conditions have lessened since the last report according to the U.S. Drougth Monitor. As of Tuesday, 17.7% of the state is not experiencing drought conditions, up nearly 1.5%. Although, three months ago over 23% of the state did not have drought conditions.

Most of Washington County remains in a moderate drought, as does Jefferson County. Conditions have improved in Henry and Louisa counties while most of Keokuk and Iowa counties remain in severe drought.
