Senator Charles Grassley tells KCII News that he does not have an update on the Environmental Protection Agency’s renewable fuel standards, which may lower the amount of ethanol required in certain products. He explains that the public had the opportunity to voice their opinions in January and the director of the EPA can review the proposals. The director can now adjust the regulations or withdraw the proposal. Grassley adds that it will hurt not only the ethanol industry, but agriculture, rural jobs and the environment if they are not withdrawn. He explains that they remain in a holding period.
