The Department of Natural Resource’s deadline for sewage systems to be up to code in Richmond and Rubio is 12 weeks away. At this week’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting Supervisor Jack Seward stated that approximately five stystems still need to be updated at about $12,000. Although, he adds those families involved are on fixed incomes and have exhausted public resources for financing but there may be an opportunity for charitable giving.

The deadline is June 1st and failure to meet the DNR deadline may result in Washington County being fined or the homes being declared uninhabitable.
