The Lone Tree basketball team had three players make the all-conference team.
Trent Gosnell and Jovonte Squires made first team for the Lions. Gosnell led the team in points with 442 for the season; he also had 67 steals, and led the team in rebounds with 144.
Head coach Tom Squires talked about the senior, and what he brought to the team this year.
“I really thought that at the start of the year he was really a great offensive player for us, and not that he was lazy on defense, but it kind of wasn’t his thing, but after Christmas he really bought into the defensive aspect, the rebounding part of it, and put up some double-doubles here and there and really became our leader on both the offensive and defensive end,” Squires said. “He was a big reason why we got to the district final.”
Jovonte Squires was second on the team in scoring with 272 point, and led the team with 105 assists, 17 steals and 19 blocks.
On second team for Lone Tree is Nick Viner who was third in scoring with 208 points.
Honorable mentions for Lone Tree are Shay Hudachek and Matt Wieland.
Lone Tree finished their season in the sub-state final, and ended at 16-8 overall.
