A Mine-Resistant Ambush Proteced vehicle, or MRAP, will be in Washington. An MRAP is a six-wheeled armored truck that the Washington Police Department got through the 1033 program with the military. As severe weather preparedness is discussed this week, Sheriff Jerry Dunbar states that the MRAP is a tool the agency could potentially use with a severe weather event. The MRAP will be able to reach areas that other emergency vehicles, such as ambulances, can’t get to after straight line winds or in very deep snow.
