The Washington County Extension is offering their Pork Quality Assurance Plus Program again. Washington County Extension Swine Specialist Tom Miller says they are expecting a lot of people at the training on January 11th because the certification is good for three years. Miller says they had a big group three years ago and their certification is due in January and February.

They will be covering food safety concerns in pork production as well as welfare issues that the industry has been facing. They are splitting up the classes by having one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The morning class will go from 9:30 to 11:30 and the afternoon class is from 1:30 to 3:30. To register for the training please call the Washington County extension office or Tom Miller in Washington at 319-653-4811.
