The City of Riverside will have a new insurance policy beginning April 1st. City Administrator Rusty Rogerson says the new policy they’re getting through the Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities will provide several million dollars more in coverage for thousands of dollars less.

The decision came after they reviewed the current policy and found that items were insured that the city no longer possessed, while some things were not insured.

For example, only a swing set and merry-go-round are covered at the city’s Veterans Park, which now has a marble statue and benches.
