The City of Wellman has adopted their budget for the fiscal year beginning in July. The biggest impact the budget will have on those living in the city is an increase to the debt service levy. The current rate of $0.79 per $1,000 in assessed value will be increased to $2.30. City Administrator Nick Pacha says they’re shifting the debt the water and sewer funds are paying back to the general tax levy. The change will bring the $30,000 that will be collected this year up to $87,000 for fiscal year 2015. Pacha adds the budget was submitted to the state and county last week.
