A Municpal Building overhaul, downtown construction permitting, sidewalk cafe ordinance and changes to open burning restrictions are on the agenda for tonight’s Washington City Council work session. The council will discuss the four options presented regarding facility changes for City Hall, Police and Fire which may include remodeling the former library building. Overall costs for this project are estimated at approximately $3.7 million.

As for the open burning, the current code states landscape waste may be disposed by open burning, at least one-fourth mile from any inhabited building.

The meeting will be held tonight at 6 p.m. at the council chambers.
