The State Auditor has released an auditor report on Washington County. The county’s local tax revenue was more than $34 million for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2013, including $1.3 million in tax credits from the state. Expenses for county operations decreased by 4.3% from the prior year, with a total of $17.8 million. Also, the county retained $11.4 million of the local tax revenue to finance county operations, which was a 5.3% increase over the prior year.
