The five-year construction program for Washington County was presented by County Engineer Jacob Thorius yesterday in a work session with the Washington County Board of Supervisors. The entie plan has over $20 million of construction work and Thorius explains that projects are recommended after an analysis of the entire system is conducted. He adds that bridges are a big concern and expensive; the department tries to replace or fix three each year.

The Wayland Road Bridge approaches will be replaced this summer for over $1 million and the Prairie Flower Road bridge on G36 or 190th Street, will be worked on this construction year and is estimated to cost $250,000.
