The fate of the proposed casino in Cedar Rapids will be decided next week. The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission is scheduled to meet on Thursday, April 17th to consider granting a gaming license for the Linn County casino. Multiple studies have been published that look at the potential impact on the state’s existing casinos if the license is granted. The Gaming Commission hired two firms to conduct a market analysis, one suggesting the new casino would take around 30% of the Riverside Casino’s annual business, while the other projected it would take 42%.
